Energy Saving Appliances for Home

A new generation of home appliances can help to significantly reduce electricity consumption at home. Of course, it is inconceivable to immediately replace all existing devices with energy-saving ones, but even gradual replacement of outdated or outdated equipment can help improve energy consumption parameters in the home.

energy saving devices

Refrigerators

energy saving refrigerators

The first energy-efficient appliances we looked at could save a lot of money by reducing energy consumption in the home. After all, these devices work day and night, so it's best to choose them carefully. These are refrigerators. Technological innovations from almost all manufacturers are inverter motors. They are very silent and allow you to regulate the appliance's energy consumption, avoiding consumption peaks. By keeping the temperature constant and uniform, it was possible to optimize energy consumption and increase the efficiency of the refrigerators.
Several manufacturers have developed a technology with which you can better preserve food by differentiating the ventilation in different compartments. The release of active oxygen in modern models prevents the formation of bacteria. The South Korean company's energy-saving refrigerators use insulating panels more efficiently. They are much thinner than the materials used just a few years ago. This means that modern refrigerators have become more energy efficient. More space for food, but less energy consumption to cool it. Recently, American researchers ranked refrigerators according to the leading positions in the ranking of energy savings. These energy saving appliances consume the same as a 20W light bulb. This result was achieved thanks to effective insulation, gaskets, new variable speed compressors and, again, the shape and position of the evaporator and condenser.

The results of other studies carried out in the US may convince even the most indecisive to change the refrigerator. Within 12 years of purchasing a new model, the reduction in energy costs compared to an old device can reach several hundred dollars. The most energy-efficient models are those with a freezer on top of the refrigerator. At the same time, side-by-side refrigerators have the worst energy efficiency indicators.

Dishwashers

From a technological point of view, modern dishwashers not only consume less energy but also much less water, and adjustable baskets allow you to optimize loads. German manufacturers also use the properties of natural zeolite, a mineral that absorbs moisture during washing and releases it as steam during drying, making the last stage of the cycle faster and more efficient.

washing machines

Modern washing machines offer different washing cycles to reduce water and detergent consumption. Extensive research has shown that the cleaning process does not depend on the temperature of the water and detergent used, but is a consequence of the drum's mechanical action. In this sense, new solutions emerged, for example, the washing machines developed by the company introduce air bubbles into the drum, which allow the detergent to penetrate better into fabrics and wash well even in cold water.

induction cookers

Induction hobs are becoming increasingly popular, even among energy-saving appliance lines. They cook food by creating an electromagnetic field that only heats the bottom of the pan. As a result, there is no energy loss. You save money, as the efficiency of these appliances reaches 95%, while conventional gas stoves have leaks in the order of 30-60%.

Vacuum Cleaner

How do you convert watts into the useful work of a vacuum cleaner? Not much if the vacuum system isn't efficient. The only thing you can tell by looking at the watts indicated on the energy label is energy absorption. But what if all that energy is being used inefficiently? New energy saving appliances offer good guarantees. The vacuum cleaner models with cyclone technology have the advantage of not having a dust bag. The suction power remains unchanged, benefiting from the appliance's energy efficiency.

Energy Efficiency Label

Once you've made sure that your home appliances can help you save energy in your home, all that's left is to choose the right model. There are many offers and it is not so easy to navigate. The first thing to do is pay attention to the energy efficiency label, which gives a clear idea of energy consumption.

The horizontal arrows at the top indicate the energy efficiency class, which can range from A +++ (best) to G (worst). The color of the arrows also indicates the degree of energy efficiency of the equipment: from red for the high energy consumption classes to dark green for the most energy efficient appliances. Arrows show energy consumption in kWh per year based on laboratory tests, ie under ideal conditions. Knowing the cost of electricity, you can easily determine the annual cost of electricity, which of course also depends on how you use the device.
